Tinez Farms: An Organic Oasis

Nestled in the heart of South Florida’s farming district, a wholesome safe haven for friends and families awaits. Tinez Farms, originally established in 2021, began as a passion project and now serves as a staple for the community, offering a family-oriented environment for guests to enjoy the outdoors and purchase produce of all kinds. For the owner of Tinez Farms, Jessica Martinez, the farm has paved the way for new opportunities for her and her family.

“It started [as a passion project] to learn how to grow food organically and how to teach my daughters more about the Earth and the land and eating clean. And then, pretty much everything that I used to do for my family, I decided to open up to the public and now make it [available] for the community,” Martinez said. “So we started, of course, doing our Fall Festival and pumpkin patch and everything that I love to do with my family and places I would go to. We started to create that here in the farm, within our own brand, and [include] things that are important to us and our family and just share it with the community.”

As a result of gaining continuous support from locals, the farms have expanded from three acres to its current 10 acres. This has allowed the plantation to grow more foods and plants organically to share with the public, such as bonjato and sunflowers. Additionally, the expansion has led to the addition of more experiences for guests to enjoy while visiting.

“So, while every season of the year changes, there’s always new activations and experiences… Some of the [activities include] an experience where you get to see our chickens and be able to see their environment, and get your own eggs from the chicken coop. We [also] have a cow [themed] train that takes [visitors] on a little tour and [shows them] everything that we grow on the farm,” Martinez said.

Tinez Farms also incorporates exciting attractions for children including swings, a bouncy house and slide, a garden maze and a family favorite: the petting zoo. The farm adopts various animals such as bunnies, pigs, ponies, birds and turtles, providing them a new home with lots of attention. Guests can purchase food to feed the majority of the animals and many of them are also eligible to be pets.

“[My family’s favorite part about the farm] is the experience of being able to feed all of the livestock, but yet being in such a beautiful place,” Tinez Farm visitor Tammy Romero said.

Underneath all the fun, Tinez Farms’ main drive from its origin is to unite the community and further educate them on organic agriculture. With a stage area in the center of the farm, they can incorporate environmental information with entertainment for guests.

“I love that if I was creating this educational experience for my daughters, I could see the value of other families wanting to come out and do things outdoors, whether it was learning about organic agriculture or learning about the animals that we rescue. There was definitely a need and a demand, and I kept on hearing great feedback from our guests and having them come back,” Martinez said. “I love that I’ve been able to meet a lot of people in the community, that we’ve been able to join forces to support other small businesses and do a lot of things for charity…; we’re able to give back and bring awareness to nonprofits.”
