Spotify’s 2023 Global Top Artist: Taylor Swift

As Taylor Swift travels the world on her “Eras Tour,” she continues to surpass her previous success and reach goals most artists only dream of achieving. On Wednesday, Nov. 29 Spotify announced Swift as their 2023 Global Top Artist. Swift was 2023’s most-streamed artist globally, reaching over 26.1 billion streams since Jan. 1. Before Swift, Bad Bunny held a three-year streak as Spotify’s previous Global Top Artist.

Swift’s recent album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” also made history as Spotify’s most single-day streamed album of the year, trumping her previous album, “Midnights.” In addition to this accomplishment, her current tour could become the highest-grossing tour of all time. Earlier this year, Swift accomplished something previously only done by The Beatles, becoming the first woman to have concurrent top 10s from three of her albums on the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10.
