South Beach Wine and Food Festival: Helping to EAT. DRINK. EDUCATE.

Jasmine Judge, Design Editor

The Food Network and Cooking Channel South Beach Wine and Food Festival returns from Feb. 24 to Feb. 27 to celebrate its 21st anniversary. At the Festival, people from across Greater Miami and Miami Beach will come together to taste foods from 400+ culinary experts and attend over 70 festival events.

Launched in 2002, SOBEWFF has grown to become the largest food and wine festival in the United States, drawing celebrities from every corner of the nation to attend the Festival. The most well-known figures in attendance this year are culinary television personality Guy Fieri, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and actress Kate Hudson. Also making an appearance will be Mexican-American actress and entrepreneur Eva Longoria Bastón, who will unveil her own line of tequila, Casa Del Sol.

Last year, the Festival was pushed to May as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This, coupled with capacity restrictions, cost the Festival millions of dollars in revenue. While event coordinators and their chief sponsor, Capital One, have enabled the Festival to return to its pre-pandemic capacity, its safety protocols from 2021 will remain in place.

SOBEWFF’s aim is to feature international culinary talent and support future leaders of the hospitality industry. Below are five must-see events:

Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives LIVE (Feb. 24) –

Presented by Coke Zero Sugar and hosted by Guy Fieri beachside at the Delano Hotel in South Beach, Fieri takes guests to Flavortown with foods from the best “greasy spoon” eateries featured on his hit show.

Asian Night Market (Feb. 24) –

Presented by Lox Club at the Loews Hotel in Miami Beach, this walk-around event allows guests to taste authentic Asian cuisine from some of the best Asian restaurants in the country.

Red Stripe Burger Bash (Feb. 25) –

Presented by Schweid & Sons beachside at the Ritz Carlton in South Beach, this event has guests competing before a panel of celebrity judges and hosts Rachael Ray and José Andrés in a fight to create the best burger.

A Taste of Italy (Feb. 25) –

Hosted by renowned chef Anne Burrell at the Jungle Plaza in the Miami Design District, guests sample exclusive foods from various Italian regions, such as Piedmont, Sardinia, Sicily, Campania and more.
