PHOTOGALLERY: Palmetto’s Class of 2023 Decision Day

On May 5, Miami Palmetto Senior High hosted a college decisions day event for the class of 2023. Seniors decked out in their college gear, took pictures, made signs and danced to music in the courtyard.
Students showed off their future schools and proudly announced their decisions. Panthers will be attending colleges across the country, including many of the Florida schools, the University of Connecticut, Harvard College and many other institutions.
Lucas Hudson (far left) will be attending the University of Pennsylvania next year but he will always be a panther at heart. “I think I’ll miss the community events like this where we all just go out into the courtyard and have fun, like that’s just the spirit of this school. And I hope Penn has something similar,” Hudson said.
Carson Rivera (far right) is a soon to be a Florida State University Nole and he is already feeling the school spirit. “FSU [has] the best campus, the best academics, the best sports, the best everything,” Rivera said. Next year he hopes to get the chance to be involved around the school. “I definitely hope to meet a lot of people and join a lot of organizations and be a part of something,” Rivera said.

Ava Goldenberg (right) will be attending the University of Virginia for a degree in commerce. Goldenberg is happy to have the chance to attend university out of state. “They have a lot of great academic opportunities and I really wanted to get out of state,” Goldenberg said.
A few members of the Class of 2023 will be going to Durham, North Carolina to become Duke University blue devils. Among them includes Abbie Lambert (middle) who is excited to study Neuroscience & Sociology. “I love the environment, it’s like a smaller school so there’s a lot of opportunities at my disposal which is unique about Duke and other schools like it, they also have a lot of good research opportunities…I’m really excited,” Lambert said.
The Panther’s very own seniors are heading off to college.
