On Sept. 8, 17-time Grammy Award-winning artist Kendrick Lamar announced on X that he will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9, 2025.
With over 100 million people watching in the audience and at home, performing at the Super Bowl marks one of the most significant moments in an artist’s career. However, this is not new for Lamar, since this will mark the second time he has performed at a halftime show. Lamar, along with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige, performed for the Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium LVI halftime show in 2022.
Lamar has experienced massive success since his debut album “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” in 2012. Since then, he has won 17 Grammys and a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album “DAMN.” Lamar, featured in the song “Like That,” by rappers Future and Metro Boomin, spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this year.
