Inter Miami Has Plans to Sign Lionel Messi In 2023

Lionel Messi will possibly join Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami once his current contract with Paris Saint Germain F.C. (PSG) expires in the summer of 2023.

David Ornstein of The Athletic reported that PSG is interested in renewing their contract with Messi, although Miami’s ownership group has held multiple meetings with Messi’s father allowing Messi to sign a pre-contract with the club this winter.

Reports have also shown Messi’s former team, FC Barcelona, which he played for over two decades, has spoken of their desire to bring Messi back after the club did not have sufficient funds to renew his contract last summer.

With the World Cup starting on Nov. 20 and running through Dec. 18, Messi’s contract talks have been put on hold and are likely to resume once the games conclude. The upcoming tournament will be Messi’s last World Cup appearance.

Nonetheless, this news is exciting to many American soccer fans as Messi is regarded as one of the best players of all time.
