On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Republican senators released a report linking Hunter Biden to a prostitution or human trafficking ring and claims that he recieved 3.5 million dollars from a Russian billionare.

The 87-page report led by Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley alleges that Biden has sent thousands of dollars to people involved in the sex industry.

The footnotes of the report holds the claims linking the Biden Family’s involvement in the human trafficking or prostitution with details of “criminal concerns and extortion threats.”

The report does state that none of the records can indisputably confirm the money was sent to people involved in the sex industry or sex trade.

On Feb.14, 2014, Biden received 3.5 million dollars from Elena Baturina into a Rosemont Seneca Thornton LLC bank account, an investment firm Biden co-founded in 2013. Baturina founded and served as the President of a construction and investment company, Inteco, as well as being married to the late Yury Yuzkov, mayor of Moscow who passed in 2019. Baturina said she gave the money for a “Consultancy Agreement.”

According to The Wall Street Journal, in 2015, Baturina sent Biden 11 transactions of  $391,968.21 to a BAK USA bank account. Nine of the 11 transactions sent from Baturinas account to Rosemont Seneca Thorton bank were transferred to an account belonging to BAK. NY Governor Andrew Como tweeted about BAK providing new job opportunities as the first company to make their first own tablet. The next year BAK filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy and went out of business.

The money received from Baturina has left many people confused and suspicious about the situation and left speculations about Biden.

The report also brought up an issue that sparked controversy back in Sept. concerning Biden’s position on the Ukraine energy company, Burisma. The report said the Obama administration had knowledge of Biden’s position and were aware it put them at an uncomfortable position since Joe Biden was Vice President at the time.

The report does not make it clear whether Biden’s role in Ukraine affected U.S. policy.
