On Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 10:30 a.m., a Palmetto Bay woman was going for a morning walk in an area near Southwest 168th St. and Southwest 91st Ave when a tall, skinny man dressed in black and wearing a ski mask attacked her with a knife.

He allegedly pointed the knife at her and forced her into nearby bushes, where he attempted to rip her shirt off. A small fight started, but the woman escaped with minor scrapes and a small laceration. Unfortunately, the alleged attacker escaped just before police arrived. A search is currently underway for the attacker.

Officials are investigating this case as a sexual battery and assault case. Police consider the suspect ‘armed and dangerous.’ Many locals are worried about taking walks alone now because they do not want to become a victim of a similar attack.

If anyone has information on the attacker, contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-8477.
