One of the largest music festivals in Miami, III Points, has become a staple event for people in South Florida. For years, this music gathering has sparked excitement and brought together various groups of people. Each October, it transforms the city into a hub of creativity and music.
A hot spot for music lovers, III Points hosts a blend of art, culture and sound that captivates audiences. Whether to have a good time with friends, sing along to top songs or put together a cute outfit, III Points becomes a must-do bucket list item for many music fans.
This year, III Points was held from Oct. 17 – 18 in Wynwood. Leading up to the festival, the halls of Miami Palmetto Senior High buzzed with talk about the event. Many students were found conversing about anticipated performers, songs and their themed outfits. As people speculated about lineups and artists, excitement built within fans, who counted down the days until the festival.
“I’m looking forward to getting to hear some of my favorite songs while surrounded by my favorite people,” junior and III Points attendee Sienna Martinez said.
For others, like junior Ashley Bozzo, III Points served as a full-circle moment, reminding them of how their music taste has evolved.
“My sister got me into house music because she would always play it in the car, around the house and by the pool, so it eventually grew on me, and now I love it,” Bozzo said.
Both Martinez and Bozzo had a great time and declared they do not plan on missing out on the festival next year.
Emblematic of a renaissance of both local and international artists, the festival unites people of diverse backgrounds to witness the performances that take place in Wynwood. This neighborhood undeniably offers the ideal location for such an artistically creative event. Presenting music from multiple genres, ranging from electronic and indie to hip-hop and experimental, and its immersive visual art installations, this festival reflects Wynwood’s artistic spirit and diversity as home to the largest concentration of street art in Florida.
Holding the role as one of the most major events in Miami, this festival is no longer just about music. Rather, it serves as a celebration for the individuality that keeps Miami thriving, vibrant and alive.
