FACEOFF: Godzilla VS Kong: Who Wins?

Michael Angee and Valentina Arias

Team Godzilla (M.A.)

Godzilla is a prehistoric sea monster powered by nuclear radiation as a result of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings during World War II. Since his first appearance in 1954, Godzilla has magnificently battled many opponents. King Kong, on the other hand, is just a big monkey that throws barrels at plumbers.

Although King Kong has strength and speed, Godzilla has a variety of abilities, including his atomic breath and injury resistance. Godzilla’s atomic breath contains range, power and pinpoint accuracy. The prehistoric sea creature can also change the power of the breath from, for example, a blast of superheated vapor to a beam with explosive properties.

Godzilla was deemed “The King of Monsters” in past incarnations, and this title is no joke. The monster has destroyed past opponents, including the mythological King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla.

In combat, King Kong could use his wingspan advantage, but cannot defeat Godzilla’s Nuclear Pulse.

The sea monster can emit his atomic energy through his Nuclear Pulse, which is more lethal in this form compared to its atomic breath form. This ability helped him kill King Gidorah, disintegrating his body and leaving only the head, a reminder of Godzilla’s complete dominance.

King Kong may act as a worthy opponent for Godzilla, and the two plan to face off once again with the release of “King Kong vs. Godzilla” at the end of Mar. 2021.

Team King Kong (V.A.)

In the epic battle between Godzilla and King Kong, King Kong clearly gives Godzilla a run for his money. King Kong has the mobility and strength to wipe out his competition.

In a battle between both competitors, Godzilla’s atomic breath acts as his only advantage over King Kong. This sounds like a huge advantage, since it resembles a laser, but how many times would Godzilla actually have the ability to use it? Godzilla is a big monster, so he would get tired more easily from using all of his energy on his atomic breath.

While King Kong may not have atomic breath, he still has many things going for him, like his extreme strength and speed. King Kong’s arms are about the same size as his body. He could destroy anything in sight, and could put Godzilla in a situation where he cannot use his atomic breath.

Additionally, Godzilla cannot use his arms to fight, since they appear equivalent in size to a T-Rex’s arms. He cannot even scratch his own back, so what makes people think he can defend himself against King Kong? And yes, King Kong might be smaller than Godzilla, but he should not be overlooked; he has proven that he can fight on multiple occasions, no matter where. Whether on land or in the sea, he can still fight very well, no matter what.

Overall, King Kong has an excellent chance of beating his competitor, Godzilla. While he may not have all the powers of his competition, he is still a force to be reckoned with and people should not consider him weaker.
