On Nov. 13, around 10:30 p.m., a school shooting began at the University of Virginia. Three football players died, and two others were injured; one in good condition while the other is in a critical state. The shooting became one of almost 600 mass shootings in the United States this year.

The shooting was carried out on a bus returning from a class trip to Washington D.C. The university issued a shelter-in-place order after police responded, as the suspect was still at large. The order lasted nearly 12 hours, forcing many students to remain in classrooms and libraries overnight.

Currently, the suspect is in custody and will be charged with three counts of using a handgun to commit a felony and three counts of second-degree murder.
