The Miami Heat’s Successful Season

Sydney Campbell, Design Editor

Currently ranked 2nd in the East Conference for the 2019-2020 season, with 19 wins and seven losses as of now, the Miami Heat have had an extremely successful season; Most likely due to their starting lineup this year, consisting of players like Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, undrafted sharpshooter Duncan Robinson, undrafted rookie Kendrick Nunn and rookie Tyler Herro.

The Heat are doing so good, likely because of their eagerness to find young, ambitious and talented players, like 19-year-old Herro.

The players show a willingness to help and  learn from each other for the better of the team like never seen before, this is apparent in the individual players statistics.

According to the NBA, returning player Bam Adebayo scores an average of 15.2 points per game, 10.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists. Jimmy Butler averages 21.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game.

The Heat’s coach, Erik Spoelstra has sure brought on the heat with those star players and many more including: Meyers Leonard a power forward/center, Goran Drogic point guard/shooting guard and Derrick Jones Jr. forward/guard.

Number 25, undrafted rookie Nunn, scores an average of 16.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game; another of the Heat’s undrafted, powerful players, Robinson averages 11.6 points per game and 3.1 rebounds.

This year’s Heat team appears to have amazing chemistry between the players as they are rarely “ball-hogs” and show a willingness to always pass when necessary. They listen to each other and to Spoelstra and have no intentions of letting their team slip up — they fight hard and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work boys, you are Miami’s team and right now you are making us proud.
