On May 30, Taylor Swift announced that she now has complete ownership over all of her music, music videos, concert films, album art, photography and unreleased songs. 

This moment is huge for Swift, since she has fought the ongoing battle of claiming ownership of all her art for the past 20 years.

Before Swift had ownership, she adopted a way of trying to gain control of her music: re-recording her albums and calling them Taylor’s Version. The re-recording of these albums sparked fans’ excitement and helped Swift bring her voice back to her music. Over the years, Swift has re-recorded 4 of her albums: Fearless, Speak Now, Red and 1989.

Swift has shared her gratitude toward her fans and thanked them for their support throughout her challenging ownership journey. Now that she has full ownership, Swift plans to move beyond the difficulties of the past and celebrate owning her music and moving forward with her music career.
