So Long, Hunker Downers: Actor and Internet Sensation Leslie Jordan Dies at 67

On Oct. 24, Leslie Jordan, the famous comedian and actor, passed away in a car accident at the age of 67. Following his work on various television shows, most notably “Will and Grace,” the actor gained significant support from social media during the initial COVID-19 quarantine.  

Reports say Jordan’s car crashed into the side of a building after he had experienced a medical emergency in Hollywood, CA. Police confirmed an individual driving a BMW at around 9:30 a.m. collided with a wall and died, but did not directly identify the victim until later that day. 

During the pandemic lockdown, Jordan gained fame by producing short, comedic viral videos — which he filmed in Tennessee with his family. Posting quirky and amusing videos of his everyday life led him to gain a total of 5.8 million followers on Instagram and 2.3 million followers on TikTok.
