From diapers to diplomas, Christine, Kevin and Melissa Ellenburg have remained close through their journey to senior year. As they slowly await their college acceptances, the triplets take in the rest of their final high school year, hoping to stay together next year.
“We researched different schools when applying and talked about what we all liked,” senior Christine Ellenburg said. “We wanted to go to the best school possible.”
Along with their similar grade point averages and SAT scores, the triplets also work together at the DuMond Conservancy.
“The DuMond Conservancy is a non-profit organization associated with Monkey Jungle. It’s a conservancy for owl monkeys that are retired from lab research. They now do observational research on the monkeys,” Melissa Ellenburg said. “We go most Sundays to feed them and clean cages.”
Contrary to typical group of triplets, the Ellenburgs each have their own unique hobbies and characteristics that set them apart from each other.
“I do wrestling and karate. Melissa dances, while Christine runs cross country and track,” Kevin Ellenburg said. “I think it’s cool that we’re so close, even though I’m the only guy.”
Now, the only obvious question is, will the Ellenburgs end up going to college together?
“It would obviously be a plus if we all end up going to the same school, but I’m not going to revolve my overall decision on that,” Christine said.
