It’s that time of year again, ladies; get your fans ready because it’s about to get hot. Palmetto’s pageant kings prepare to take the stage and show off their six packs and dance moves with Mr. Panther 2012.
“Mr. Panther has always been a school-wide favorite for both students and faculty,” senior TVP member Tristan Lewis said. “We normally have faculty members as judges, but sometimes we get guest judges.”
The 35 contestants will perform in the formal and swimwear competitions, along with a group dance routine. After the top ten boys are announced on stage, they will perform their talents.
“It going to be a tough competition but I have been working on my talent a lot,” senior Ross Gassman said. “Hopefully I make top ten; we will see.”
For the past few weeks the boys have been working on a dance production for the opening number. Together with the senior Variations dancers, the contestants are rehearsing vigorously to perfect their moves for the big day.
“It gets hard working with the guys sometimes but it is definitely worth it,” senior variations Cynthia Pulido said. “They are all a lot of fun to work with.”
This annual event always gets the audience up on their feet and this year’s contestants don’t expect anything less. Mr. Panther 2012 is being held on December 6 in the school auditorium at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door for ten dollars, and they’ll be selling out quick.
