Miami-Dade County Public Schools Announces Tentative In-Person Graduation Ceremonies

On Apr. 9, 2021, Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho announced that high school seniors will graduate in-person this year. Following his announcement of the graduation ceremonies, Carvalho published a tentative schedule for the event dates, times and locations. 

Announced across various social media platforms, Carvalho added that COVID-19 protocols would be implemented after review by MDCPS’s reconvened Medical and Health Task Force. The schedule and its various details remain subject to change. 

Beginning on June 1, the ceremonies will run through June 9. The various venues selected by the district include Brucie Ball Educational Center, Miami-Dade Fair & Exposition, Ocean Bank Convocation Center, Robert Educational Center, Ruth Owens Kruse Educational Center, Robert Morgan Senior High School, Miami Senior High, Neva King Cooper Educational Center and iTech @ Thomas A. Edison Educational Center. Some venues have two separate locations for graduations, separated as venue one and venue two. 

On June 9, 2021 at 9:30 a.m., Miami Palmetto Senior High School seniors will arrive at Miami-Dade Fair and Exposition (Venue 1) to attend their graduation ceremony. More information from the district and Palmetto regarding graduation can be expected in the coming weeks.
