After 11 years of discouragement and losing seasons, the Dolphins may have something to look forward to. With 10 games remaining in the 2011-2012 NFL season and the Dolphins playoff hopes closing week by week, fans have begun to transition their focus to next year’s 2012 draft.
Number 1 draft prospect Andrew Luck from Stanford University has been the point of interest so far. Looking like the perfect fit for the Dolphins, it would take some smart draft play to acquire this number one draft choice.
“It would be a dream come true for Miami to get Luck,” senior Lee Seifer said. “Suck for Luck!”
What would need to be done for Miami to acquire the number 1 pick, to acquire a decently high draft choice, is to have a sub-par record. After this is complete, Miami would have to trade off their draft choice and something else to the St. Louis Rams, the team that is most likely to be in possession of this prized number 1 pick.
“Stephen Ross, Dolphins’ owner cannot pass up an opportunity like this,” junior Troy Cook said.
The Dolphins’ schedule for the rest of the season seems to be more difficult than the other two winless teams, the St. Louis Rams and the Indianapolis Colts. All fans can do at this point is sit through one more dreadful season and hope the draft plays out in their favor. The Motto for the rest of the season seems to be set. “Suck for Luck.”
